Special education is concerned with the fields of education, training, rehabilitation and social participation of people who live with development difficulties and require special support. Special Education at Leibniz University Hannover
Research and teaching in special education is carried out at Leibniz University in the basic subject areas General Special Education and Sociology, Special Needs Psychology as well as in the nine special educational areas Inclusive School Development and Education in the field of Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, Speech Pedagogy and Therapy, Education for Intellectual Development Disorders, General Studies and Inclusive Didactics, Inclusive Didactics of Mathematics, Didactics of Symbol Systems – German, Vocational Orientation in Inclusive Contexts as well as Learning Disabilities Education.
