The potential of picture book apps for language education
The teaching project "Potential of Picture Book Apps for Language Education," funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs as part of the KIM (Child-Friendly Media Use) programme, will be carried out in cooperation with the City of Hanover in the summer semester of 2022 and the winter semester of 2022-2023.
The project focuses on reading picture book apps aloud to promote literacy. To this end, students receive content training in various seminars and then read picture book apps aloud in practice at daycare centres, reflecting on their experiences in tandem with educational professionals.

Easy talking with picture book apps
In the project "Easy Talking with Picture Book Apps" in cooperation with MLU Halle-Wittenberg and EB-Kita Halle (Saale), educational professionals, language consultants and students at MLU Halle are working together in tandems/trios to expand their skills as part of a process-accompanying qualification programme (2021-2024) in the use of digital picture books in language-building read-aloud interactions.

Objective: To expand the integration of theoretical and practical content by establishing digital teaching and learning formats.
The project created a video database containing instructional videos on the theoretical content of selected courses as well as videos linking theory to best practice examples from educational and therapeutic practice.

Inclusive teaching practice – virtual learning with laboratory schools
Objective: To establish practical relevance in teacher training (interdisciplinary students of all teaching professions at LUH)
Creation of virtual learning opportunities in collaboration with laboratory schools in various inclusive school contexts: Transmission of teaching sequences from schools, virtual mentor consultations by teachers for students, Design of a digital learning platform that provides digital learning modules and practical videos from school contexts for students in the form of a "virtual classroom". The platform consists of a video database and additional material (e.g. explanatory videos/screencasts, lecture recordings, interviews with teachers, case studies, reflection questions, and much more).
