Cognitive Activation in inclusive childcare institutions (KoAkiK II): Sustainable implementation and diferential effectiveness of the KoAkiK training program
Abstract
The KoAkiK II project aims to implement the content of the KoAkiK training program into everyday daycare center life in a sustainable manner. It also analyzes how long-term and sustainable the intended training effects are one year after completing the training, the extent to which children with different developmental conditions or specific risk factors benefit from the skills of the teachers, and what moderating effects can be observed within the child-family-daycare center triad. The project was funded by the Federal State of Lower Saxony, Ministry for Science and Culture (project duration: 01/2019-06/2022).

Abstract
The KoAkiK project aims to further develop the professional skills of kindergarten teachers in inclusive daycare centers in the area of cognitively activating teacher-child interactions through further training, thereby sustainably anchoring everyday stimulation and support for children's learning and educational processes. The effects of the KoAkiK training (consisting of continuing education and implementation support) are being examined at both, teacher and child levels. The project focuses on the educational goals of “developing cognitive skills and the joy of learning” and “body – movement – health” and pays particular attention to children from socio-economically and socio-culturally disadvantaged backgrounds. The project was funded by the Federal State of Lower Saxony, Ministry for Science and Culture (project duration: 01/2017-09/2020).
