We are very happy to inform about the efforts of our cooperation partner, Mr Afizai Vuliva, M.A. SLT, master graduate of Leibniz University Hannover and Speech-Language therapist at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) in Moshi, Tanzania, to develop an academic training program for Speech-Language-Pathology. In cooperation with our cooperation partner Mrs Sarah Mkenda of KCMC, he is in contact with the Dean’s Office to discuss possibilities to implement such program for future SLP specialists at the institution’s University College (KCMUCo).

Both Sebastian Kolowa Memorial University (SEKOMU) in Lushoto where Mr Vuliva has been employed for many years, and his current employer, KCMC, are long-term partner institutions of the Department of Speech-Language Therapy and Inclusive Education. In several projects in the field of Speech and Language Pathology, and currently in the projects HEAR Africa! and SpeechBase, LUH has collaborated with the two Tanzanian institutions.

Our admiration and support go to Mr Vuliva and Mrs Mkenda for their effort to make an important contribution to the academic training in SLP in Tanzania!
